TJ and Traci | Winston-Salem Engagement Photography

I was so excited to do this engagement session with TJ and Traci!  Not only are they fun and cute, but they are friends, which makes my job even more special.  We raced across the great state of North Carolina to photograph on each of their respective alma maters…… you can say they have a divided house…..TJ a UNC Tarheel….Traci…part of the NC State Wolfpack.  Can’t wait to photograph their wedding in June, in Winston-Salem, NC!  Congrats TJ and Traci!!! xoxo

Allison and Ryan tie the knot! | Charlottesville Wedding Photography

The one thing I enjoy most about photographing weddings, is that I usually know the bride or groom.  It makes what I do, even more personal.  I met Allison and Ryan through a mutual friend and the rest is history!  I was flattered when they asked me to photograph their very intimate and sweet wedding at the Ivy Inn in late September.

Iceland!

Sometimes it takes a life event to decide that you better get busy on your bucket list.  Mine occurred earlier in 2012 and as soon as I was well, I booked my trip to Iceland.  It had always intrigued me and I was so curious to see what the land was like and its people.  Take a little journey with me through these photos—I can tell you that they do not speak to the actual beauty I saw.  The icebergs I saw on my last day brought tears to my eyes–they were such a sight to behold and take in. Click on the links above each photo to learn more about that particular area.

The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal pool in the middle of lava fields.  Rumor has it the waters are supposed to be healing.  It was such a fun experience, I did it twice.:)

Reykjavik

I loved Reykjavik!  It had so many fun shops, coffee bars, pubs, and restaurants.  It bumped up to the water and had a bustling culture that I never imagined would have existed in this far off land.

Geysir

Geysir…..big explosions of hot water out of the ground about every 7-8 minutes.  I’m including some photos of the landscape I saw on the way to the Geysir.

Snowmobiling on a glacier

Yep. I did it.  And if you go to Iceland, I recommend you do it too!  Click here to get more info on the Mountaineers Adventure Tours!

Waterfalls……

The Northern Lights….

Incredible light show late at night in the sky.

Random countryside beauty in the southern part of Iceland

The coastal town of Vik

The icebergs…….

Well worth the 10 hour round trip drive from Reykjavik.  My eyes have never seen such beauty.  The magical part was imagining how old the bergs were….probably thousands of years old.  The photos do not do them justice.

And there you have it.  One of the most amazing trips I have been on.  I am so grateful to have had this experience. xo
